Our Commitment

We raise purebred Maine Coon kittens with careful attention to health, temperament, and proper development. This Health Guarantee explains what we cover, what we require from the buyer, and how we handle concerns. Our goal is simple: clear expectations, documented care, and fair support if a serious health issue occurs.

Veterinary Care Before Going Home

Each kitten is raised with routine care appropriate for age and development. Before leaving, kittens receive:

  • Age appropriate vaccinations following our veterinarian’s guidance
  • Routine deworming on a schedule appropriate for kittens
  • Basic health monitoring for appetite, weight gain, stool quality, coat condition, and overall behavior

You will receive your kitten’s health record at pickup or delivery, including vaccination and deworming history.

What We Guarantee

We guarantee that, at the time your kitten leaves our care, your kitten is:

  • In good overall health to the best of our knowledge
  • Free from signs of infectious illness that would make the kitten unfit for placement
  • Eating well and using the litter box consistently
  • Properly socialized for normal household life based on age

We also provide a written health guarantee outlining coverage terms, timelines, and your required steps after you bring your kitten home.

Required Wellness Exam After Arrival

A veterinary wellness exam is required after your kitten arrives home. This exam protects you and your kitten and creates a medical baseline.

Buyer requirements:

  • Schedule a wellness exam with a licensed veterinarian within the timeframe listed in your contract and guarantee
  • Keep written documentation of the exam results
  • Notify us promptly if any serious concern is found

Failure to complete the wellness exam within the required timeframe may void parts of the guarantee, since we cannot confirm the kitten’s condition after travel and transition.

Infectious Illness Policy

Kittens can be exposed to stress during travel and transition, which may trigger mild symptoms in some cases. If your veterinarian diagnoses an infectious condition soon after arrival:

  • Contact us right away with the diagnosis and treatment plan
  • Follow your veterinarian’s recommendations and complete treatment
  • Keep all records and receipts

Coverage depends on diagnosis timing, severity, and whether the buyer followed the required wellness exam timeline and care instructions.

Genetic and Congenital Conditions

We work to reduce genetic risk through responsible breeding choices and ongoing health screening of our breeding cats. Even with careful selection, genetic and congenital conditions can still occur in any breeding program.

If your veterinarian diagnoses a serious genetic or congenital condition:

  • You must provide veterinary documentation, including diagnostic findings
  • We may request a second veterinary opinion or specialist confirmation
  • We may request supporting test results and medical records

If confirmed and covered under your written guarantee, remedies are handled as described below.

What Is Not Covered

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Normal stress related adjustment issues from rehoming
  • Minor, treatable conditions that commonly occur in kittens, unless stated otherwise in writing
  • Parasites if the buyer does not follow the recommended prevention plan after arrival
  • Illness or injury caused by accidents, improper handling, unsupervised outdoor access, toxic exposure, or other environmental hazards
  • Issues caused by missed vaccines, delayed veterinary care, or failure to follow medical advice
  • Reactions to vaccines, foods, supplements, or medications not prescribed by a veterinarian
  • Conditions resulting from breeding your kitten, if sold as a pet and altered status was required

Buyer Care Requirements

To keep the guarantee valid, the buyer agrees to:

  • Provide proper indoor housing and safe supervision
  • Feed a quality diet and keep fresh water available
  • Keep the kitten current on vaccines as advised by the veterinarian
  • Maintain parasite prevention as needed for your region
  • Provide routine veterinary care and seek prompt treatment if illness occurs
  • Avoid exposure to unknown cats during the initial adjustment period

Remedies and Resolution Options

If a covered condition is confirmed within the guarantee timeframe, resolution may include one of the following, based on the written terms:

  • Replacement kitten when available
  • Partial refund toward veterinary expenses up to a stated limit
  • Return of the kitten under agreed conditions, when medically appropriate

Exact remedies, deadlines, and required documentation are defined in the written guarantee provided with your contract.

Return and Rehoming Policy

We care about lifetime placement. If you can no longer keep your kitten, contact us. We may be able to help with rehoming guidance or return options depending on your agreement. No kitten should be surrendered to a shelter without contacting us first.

Important Notes About Growth and Appearance

Maine Coons develop slowly, and adult size, coat length, and final features can change as your kitten matures. This guarantee focuses on health, not cosmetic traits.

How to File a Health Guarantee Claim

  1. Contact us as soon as a serious issue is suspected
  2. Provide your veterinarian’s written diagnosis and date of examination
  3. Send copies of test results, treatment plan, and receipts
  4. Allow reasonable time for review and any requested confirmation

We will respond with next steps and keep communication clear and respectful.
